My Favorite Travel Beauty Products

Posted on Posted in Lifestyle, Travel Advice

Okay ladies, let’s talk travel beauty products. Because when you’re traveling & trying to fit everything into a carry-on (more on that here!), it’s important to find those few beauty products that will keep you looking fabulous on the road! I’m all about packing lightly and efficiently, so I’m sharing with you today the beauty products I use when I travel. These are all available in your local drugstore (and in the Amazon links below), so they’re affordable and easy to get your hands on. These products all come in small sizes so you can take them in your carry-on (double win!). And with just these 5 products you can head out into the world looking beautiful and fabulous every day of your travels!

Here are my favorite travel beauty products:

Dry Shampoo

This stuff has saved me more than once! You don’t have time to wash your hair every day but you need to look good in all your travel photos. Use a bit of dry shampoo on your roots when they’re getting oily, then brush it through your hair. This will buy you at least another day before washing your hair!

Colorstay Foundation

This foundation is pure magic. It stays for a full 24 hours, and believe me it passes the test when you’re running around sightseeing all day and socializing all night. I just apply this with my finger and it blends right in, smoothing out my skintone. I never have to reapply during the day, and I love knowing that my skin looks good when I’m out on my travels!

Butterfly Sculpt Mascara

Without doing too much to your eyes, you can still make them pop and look great with just the right mascara. I love the wand on this one, since it really does help to sculpt my lashes. It’s just enough to bring out my eyes, without spending lots of time, money, or space on a bag full of eye make-up.

Leave-In Conditioner

I find that without a good leave-in conditioner, my hair gets super dried-out when I travel. This conditioner was recommended to me by my salon, and even though it’s a bit pricey I won’t travel without it now. After showering, towel dry your hair and spritz a bit into the middle and lower sections of your hair, then work it around with your hands. It works wonders and leaves my hair shiny and soft.

Red Lipstick

This is the real trick to pulling off the minimalist travel beauty look. Throw on some red lipstick and you’ll look like a million bucks! It automatically makes me stand out and feel confident. You don’t need a lot of products, just the one that will make you look and feel beautiful!

So there are my 5 favorite travel beauty products. I travel with these at all times and have really very little else in my make-up bag. For me, I’m out there to see the world, not to be seen by it. So I don’t need to spend a long time getting dolled up each morning. But the reality is that we want to look good for our travel photos (and in case we meet a handsome stranger!). So we can find balance by taking only the essential travel beauty products. These are my favorites, what are yours?

  1. I agree less is more and I took care very little make-up. For my coloring I prefer a brick red lipstick that is more natural looking for me. But I LOVE your red lipstick. I find that as I leave the airplane my skin looks dry and tired. Just a bit of rich moisturizer makes all the difference before I hit the ground. I use Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera hand cream. It comes in a package of two 8 oz. jars for less than $5 and is what I use each night as well. I prefer it to all the “high-end” creams.
