My Guatemala Photo Diary // Brittany from Boston

My Guatemala Photo Diary

Posted on Posted in Central America, Travel

I was talking to someone the other day about my time spent living in Guatemala and I was reminded how much I miss that experience! It was such an exciting time in my life, it was a little over a year ago and I had just left my job in Boston to go live in this random developing country in Central America. I definitely got some mixed reactions from people before I went but I was ready for a big adventure, and that’s definitely what it was. I got to know this country, its people, its culture and food, and I even learned some Spanish along the way. In that time I came to love this little country that few people even know of, and I always remember the fun I had exploring Guatemala. So in order to show you a bit more of this country and maybe even whet your appetite to take a trip there yourself, please enjoy My Guatemala Photo Diary. It’s a random and beautiful assortment of the photos I took while living there and I hope you see through the rubble to the beauty that personifies the little gem that is Guatemala!

  1. Brittany, this is a beautiful album! Did you find Guatemala to be welcoming and did you encounter any language barrier where you were?

    1. Yes, the Guatemalans are very warm and welcoming! The language barrier isn’t that bad, I didn’t speak any Spanish before I got there but was working on learning it while I lived there. I think as long as you work on some basic phrases you’ll be fine!
